NVIDIA 555: Cannot enable G-SYNC on KDE + Wayland

I have recently switched from X to Wayland as I now have a 2 monitor setup and badly need different UI scales for each.
The new 4k 144hz monitor is G-Sync compatible and according to the wiki's VRR page, kwin should support the feature out of the box.
Running gl-gsync-demo confirms otherwise though, with V-SYNC: ON, G-SYNC: N/A and noticeable stuttering when varying display frequency.

Now following some of the links in the wiki, it seems that as of nvidia 542 and later G-Sync should work under wayland for a single (but not multiple) monitor setup. Strangely enough though, this limitation is not mentioned in the r555 release notes. Did they forget or does the feature exist undocumented? Your guess. In my case, I can't even seem to get it working for 1 monitor.

But to get to the point, the question I'm asking is: Has anyone here had success in enabling G-Sync in KDE + Wayland?
I would ask for multi-monitor as well but barring some necromancer or NVIDIA insider roaming the forums, I won't get my hopes up.
