Module:
C624A
My connection adress:
ipp://192.168.178.25:631/
driver i selected:
Epson WF-2830 Series, Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P-R) for Linux - IPP Everywhere^tm
$lpstat -s
system default destination: EPSON_WF-2830_Series
device for EPSON_WF-2830_Series: ipp://192.168.178.25:631/
I have make a post early.
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=297954
There the printer works and prints for a moment.
Bud it's was not colored although i had configured color in the default settings.
so i run
$lp -o ColorModel=color file.png
request id is EPSON_WF-2830_Series-46 (1 file(s))
it print it gray...
After that I tried printing something else. It showed up in the jobs in the CUPS web interface, but the printer does nothing.
If you need further information, feel free to ask.
If you know how to get my printer print, feel free to help me.

In the other thread you mention using ipp://192.168.178.25/ipp/print , why did you change that ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

In both cases this does not work:
case 1. ipp://192.168.178.25/ipp/print
case 2. ipp://192.168.178.25:631/
And I don't think I have a connection problem, but i will use ipp://192.168.178.25/ipp/print.
When I try to print something, my printer responds (the display turns on), it just doesn't print.
I thought ipp://192.168.178.25:631/ was nicer, and in the examples is shown also something like that
examples:
http://hostname:631/ipp/
http://hostname:631/ipp/port1
ipp://hostname/ipp/
ipp://hostname/ipp/port1
lpd://hostname/queue
socket://hostname
socket://hostname:9100

Stop this nonsense, keep using IPP.
The self-test on the printer prints color (ie. you're not just out of ink or forgot to remove the security from the toner box)?
lpoptions -l -p EPSON_WF-2830_SeriesWhen I try to print something, my printer responds (the display turns on), it just doesn't print.
There the printer works and prints for a moment.
Bud it's was not colored
Please use https://deepl.com/ to put some sense into that

sorry for bad english.
When I try to print something, my printer responds (the display turns on), it just doesn't print.
=When I try to print something, my printer reacts by turning on the dispaly.
My printer simply does not print when I run the following:
$lp file.png
There the printer works and prints for a moment. Bud it's was not colored
=My printer still printed there, but not in color
The print test worked.
$lpoptions -l -p EPSON_WF-2830_Series

=My printer still printed there, but not in color
Return to that state.
ColorModel/Output Mode: RGB *Gray"ColorModel=RGB", not "color" - can't you control this in the cups config UI at localhost:631?
lpadmin -o "ColorModel=RGB" -p EPSON_WF-2830_SeriesOffline
ie. you're not just out of ink or forgot to remove the security from the toner box)?
When I copy on the printer I get color.
I can also print in color when I print from my cell phone
But yes, my printer says I only have a little color left.

In CUPS i have in Set Printer Options:
Color Mode: Color
The other option that I have not selected is: grayscale
Offline
lpoptions disagrees and also names it "RGB" and "Gray", please link a screenshot of the printer config page.

That looks ok… ![]()
lpoptions -o ColorModel=RGB
lp -o ColorModel=RGB file.png # does this print colorOffline
$lpoptions -o ColorModel=RGB
$lp -o ColorModel=RGB file.png
My printer printed it ![]()
but only in black and white.
then I tested:
$lp file.png
My printer has also printed in black/white in this case.
I have fine vertical lines drawn through the whole picture at a constant distance, with blue and red lines on both pictures.
When I print text, the lines are horizontal and appear less.
Before that, the lines on the images were white.
When I print with my cell phone, the printer prints about 5 times slower, but there are no white or blue and red lines.

https://epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CG30201~fa … 6159027276 sounds like airprint can actually NOT print grayscale…
blue and red lines
no green ones?
Sanity check:
lp /usr/share/cups/data/default-testpage.pdfb/w or color?
Though I don't like that "ColorModel/Output Mode: RGB *Gray" suggests grayscale while the weg GUI says color
When adding the printer, did you choose the IPP everywhere from the Epson list or the generic list or did you select the generic ipp everywhere printer - and does that make any difference?

no green ones?
no
$lp /usr/share/cups/data/default-testpage.pdf
It works
b/w or color?
I think it is related to the following:
I have fine vertical lines drawn through the whole picture at a constant distance, with blue and red lines on both pictures.
When I print text, the lines are horizontal and appear less.
Before that, the lines on the images were white.
The picture was printed in black and white. With red and blue lines
When adding the printer, did you choose the IPP everywhere from the Epson list or the generic list or did you select the generic ipp everywhere printer - and does that make any difference?
I don't understand the question exactly. IPP everywhere from the Epson list? generic list? generic ipp everywhere printer?
Maybe that will help?
The grayed out is what I have/had selected: Epson WF-2830 Series, Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P-R) for Linux - IPP Everywhere^tm.
https://pasteboard.co/5RVa9LRhB4kx.png
I tried both of them.
But when I selected one and tried to print something, my printer again printed nothing. ![]()
Even Print Test page did not help

It works
In color or grayscale?
The grayed out is what I have/had selected: Epson WF-2830 Series, Epson Inkjet Printer Driver (ESC/P-R) for Linux - IPP Everywhere^tm.
That's NOT an IPP everywhere driver!
Try to select a different vendor, choose "generic" and select the generic IPP everywhere printer
In color or grayscale?
It was printed in gray
Try to select a different vendor, choose "generic" and select the generic IPP everywhere printer
I have now selected:
Driver: Generic IPP Everywhere Printer (color, 2-sided printing)
Then I tried again with my cell phone to print something in color.
It printed a picture but ...
In any case, my printer has run out of yellow, blue and red.
I still have half of black.
**
I tried to print something out again in white and Black.
If I print something on my cell phone in black and white, a “Less color” appears on the screen and it prints it.
When I try to print something with the Leptop, only a “little color” appears on the display of the printer and that's it.
Even if I click on in the Set Default Options:
Black and With (1 bit)
Grayscale (1 bit SGray)
Grayscale (8 bit)
Grayscale (8 bit SGray)
or run:
$lp -o ColorModel=Gray file.png
**I don't know if that's asking too much.
If so, I would just mark this post as [SOLVED], buy new ink.
If my printer still doesn't print I'll see how I could solve it myself and as a last solution i will come back here with a new post
