Not receiving an email for every reply

Sorry if I'm missing something, but how can I enable getting an email for every post reply?

I have already checked the two options on Profile > Privacy > Set your subscription options and yet it seems like this only produces one mail for n responses made while I did not visit the thread:

- [x] Include a plain text version of new posts in subscription notification emails.
- [x] Automatically subscribe to every topic you post in.

Did I miss anything or is this something that's just not doable?
