Fresh installation of arch, boot takes roughly a minute on fairly good hardware and I can't figure out why

have you enabled xmp? could be slow memory training
look for bios updates
Online
yes i have xmp enabled, will try and update bios
Offline
seems that updating my bios fixed the issue
Startup finished in 14.076s (firmware) + 3.308s (loader) + 8.288s (kernel) + 3.405s (userspace) = 29.078s
graphical.target reached after 3.392s in userspace.also stack overflow entries are no longer logged to journalctl
thank you for help

as for the still quite long 15sec my bet is on memory training - maybe due to xmp - but here I would recommend: as long as you get xmp stable working for me it would be worth an extra 5sec of boot time
Online
sure, i used EXPO1 for RAM and 15 sec is acceptable for me. if need be i might try other stuff to make it faster but i prefer a stable boot without using fast boot
