Im having a problem when trying to get the new nvidia drivers to work for the kernel 2.6
The installer reports there is a problem with cat /lib/modules/2.6.3/build
Any tips on this??
Thanks in advance.

To make your life simple, I would suggest that you first update to the 2.6.5 kernel. "Pacman -Sy kernel26" ought to do it.
If you wish to run the 2.6.3 kernel instead, you will need to check the Wiki pages on the AL website for a fix. The newest kernel package does not have that problem with the NVIDIA installer.

you need to build kernel via ABS then install Nvidia drivers..from Console log in (shutdown X)
Its the only way I could get them to work with 2.6.3....& no problem in 2.6.5

Ok, then im worst than i thought...
Im writing this two topics (this one and the one about wvdial) from WINDOWS!!!
To make my self clearer...
I DONT HAVE INTERNET IN LINUX
I need to fix the issue with WVDial and the 2.6 kernel before i can do any pacman updates, also, im using kernel 2.4 for now as the nvidia drivers dont work with 2.6 (although the xfree ones do, so there is no hurry about that)
Doesnt someone know how the /dev/ttyS0 is called with the 2.6 kernel????
Here is the thread:

Let's try that again... "you need to build kernel via ABS then install Nvidia drivers... in all kernels before 2.6.5-2" The files you need to compile the nvidia drivers are now included in the kernel.
And sud_crow, you keep forgetting to lilo after upgrading the kernel.

I dont have ABS, as i dont have internet access from my Linux Box and the ABS tree its not included in the install CD.
Also, i didnt change the kernel as i cant connect nor i compiled from source my self yet so im in no need of running LILO.
Im going to download the packages manually via ftp and install them via pacman -A package or -U depending on the case to see if this solves the issue, but the problem with wvdial is as i sayd, that i dont know how you call the /dev/ttyS0 port in 2.6
No one else than me is trying to run 2.6 with wvdial to use a dial-up connection?
I cant believe im only one in the board to have dial-up, and i dont think im the only one to be trying to run it with the 2.6 kernel.
Im sorry if im mixing the posts, but they are quite related and if i get to solve one (the wvdial thing), i think i can solve the other...
Thanks in advance again!
