Re: Arch feels so slow/laggy

I would first check in issues there (searching for 'lag' for example): https://github.com/hyprwm/Hyprland/issues

Re: Arch feels so slow/laggy

Checking that other compositor was even better than my suggestion.

Just as a usual troubleshooting step, sometimes 'journalctl' can reveal an issue.
A video driver issue could be experienced when in your compositor but possibly not in basic linux console, so that might be tested.
Programs like 'htop' can sometimes help isolate lags..

Re: Arch feels so slow/laggy

@kornineq, test the behavior of the LTS kernel and kde on X11
If neither helps, please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

@sevk, wrong thread?

Re: Arch feels so slow/laggy

@kornineq Which kernel are you running? It looks like some people experience performance regressions with the new 6.10 kernel series, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=297991

Re: Arch feels so slow/laggy

It looks like linux-zen 6.10.1 is out and I'd like to suggest upgrading to give it a try. In the linked thread it didn't solve the problem but still.

Also Linux 6.10.2 will be out soon so I suggest upgrading as soon as it is in the arch repos.

Out of curiosity: Which filesystem are you running?

If the above didn't resolve the issue may I suggest to try to downgrade to Linux 6.9.10 kernel to check if the issue also persists? This could give a hint if it was introduced with 6.10.x since it is fairly new now.
