You could apply a little thought to this as you most likely set it to auto login.
Systemsettings, colors and themes, SDDM or edit /etc/sddm

That's a troubleshooting section, but you could try using the parameters it mentions there. So adjust or create a sddm config file and under [Theme] try setting EnableAvatars=false
If that doesn't work try setting DisableAvatarsThreshold=0
