My setup is as
- B660M DS3H DDR4
- i5-12600K CPU
- RX 6900 XT GPU
- Single 144 Hz FreeSync monitor
- 6.10.1-arch1-1 kernel
- latest mesa and vulkan-radeon
- X11 bspwm
- FreeSync enabled in the monitor settings and in xorg.conf
- Picom disabled with fullscreen games
When I launch VRRTest and change the target FPS, my monitor’s refresh rate stays at 144 Hz, indicated by its OSD. In an actual game, I can tell that the monitor is not displaying at a smooth 144 Hz. When I switch from a game to my desktop, there is a flickering issue as I move my mouse and doesn’t go away until I power cycle my monitor.
I’ve confirmed that none of these issues occur on Windows, so surely the GPU and monitor aren’t malfunctioning. I also didn’t experience these issues with my RX 5600 XT. Furthermore, I swapped back to that card after the last update to double-check.
Anyone else experiencing this issue or have ideas to debug it?
