How does this forum not have any captcha/manage spam?

Or is it a secret sauce?

I want to start a forum or two soon and I know spam is a major issue for forums.

So how come this one doesn't have any kind of human challenges to use?

I really hate captchas so if I could avoid it for the forums I made I would certainly want to do so if you are able to share how.

I also attribute it to an moderation team that aggressively plays 'whack -a- mole' with spam that does make it through.

Hmm I think this would not suit my use case since I want cross platform compatibility and will not be geared towards tech savvy users.

I know I could do some md5hash but I can imagine none techy people might think it was some surreptitious code.

I imagine mine will have humble beginnings so can just stick to manual approval to start.
