Request to Update a Package?

How do I request that a package gets updated? The new version of libcamera is out (libcamera-0.3.1). It has patches that are needed to make the Intel IPU6 cameras work on the Surface Pros 7+, 8, and 9. It hasn't hit extra-testing just yet. How do I go about requesting that this package be updated?

Re: Request to Update a Package?

It was flagged out of date 2 days ago: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/libcamera/

So the maintainer has been alerted, keep an eye on it.

Additional question, how do we alert the maintainer if support is missing in the package? Version 0.3.1 is in Extra-testing, but it was built without simple pipeline handler enabled.

https://github.com/linux-surface/linux- … t-10195097

"It looks like Arch doesn't enable the 'simple' pipeline handler in the libcamera package. Only vimc, uvcvideo and ipu3 are enabled. That's probably our fault, when adding support for the IPU6 in the simple pipeline handler, we forgot to update the configuration to enable the pipeline handler by default on x86 platforms. It is still enabled by default on arm platforms only. I'll send a patch to fix that. You don't need to wait for a new libcamera release, but you'll have to recompile libcamera (the v0.3.1 is fine) with the simple pipeline handler enabled manually."

Re: Request to Update a Package?

A bug report on our Gitlab will do the trick.

I just requested and got access to the Arch Gitlab today. I'm on the libcamera Gitlab page. I don't see a link/area to submit a bug report...

Re: Request to Update a Package?

gitlab has its own UI that takes some time to get used to.

On the left side of the page you see menu entries (manage, plan, code, deploy, analyze) .
Issues is in the "plan" submenu , merge requests in the "code" submenu .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
