"System Volume Information" this is usually a system-folder only found on NTFS
please check with windows if this drive really is FAT or NTFS formatted
also: if you csn access tge data from windows: backup the files - wipe the stick - do a fresh format and copy the files back

It's FAT32
wipe the stick - do a fresh format and copy the files back
No I wouldn't do that for a reason (this is not an ordinary stick)
Any other solutions?

can you be any more vague on that? I noticed this isn't any regular thumbdrive - who would use a 100mb flash in 2024? but a "System Volume Information" folder is something that belongs to NTFS and doesn'T belong on a FAT32 FS - same with this "LOST.DIR"
whatever that is - looks like some crypto crap - contact the support of the OEM as they do some out of the box stuff

Me for educational purpose
but a "System Volume Information" folder is something that belongs to NTFS and doesn'T belong on a FAT32 FS
Yeah it happens because Windows did it automatically when I plug it in, not really a problem
same with this "LOST.DIR"
Uhh... It's gone now
looks like some crypto crap
Yer think I've been fooled?
It's almost as if the kernel was trying to tell us something useful
Yes I did run
fsck.vfatIt's better now as long as I remember to unmount it before unplug the device
