Ardour launches in terminal but won't start User Interface

So one moment it was working and then it didn't after an update.

This is what I get in the terminal:

(ardour-8.6.0:21809): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 00:55:38.112: cannot register existing type 'GtkObject'

(ardour-8.6.0:21809): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 00:55:38.112: g_type_register_static: assertion 'parent_type > 0' failed

(ardour-8.6.0:21809): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 00:55:38.112: g_type_register_static: assertion 'parent_type > 0' failed

I have no problems with any other program I'm running. I made this install a few days ago and besides installing some packages for video and audio production I haven't really messed with the install at all. Ardour was installed via pacman. I'm also running GNOME desktop and I also installed arch using the archinstall command

Thanks in advance and also, this is my first post as I just registered Been using arch since January. It's the only distro that allows me to work without a hitch for audio production until today that is

Re: Ardour launches in terminal but won't start User Interface

https://discourse.ardour.org/t/solved-h … ase/110243

Solved with deleting / moving away my ~/.config/dconf/* and then logging out and in again

Do not delete that, just move it away - maybe we can spot the troublesome setting.
