Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

I think in order to help you with this issue you we need you to post some more information about your system and the error ..

Which kernel and kernel version are you using?

Is this error new? Did it start to happen after some recent upgrade?

Could you post a full dmesg/longer log output?

Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

then before it reaches a DM my PC resets

The screenshot looks like that's the install iso? There's no DM.

Can you boot eg. https://grml.org/ ?

Yes that was the install iso but it's the same if I boot into my actual installation it'll go through systemd init then reset before the DM I have like 17 pictures from trying to boot into my arch Installation, archiso, even fedora ect, fedora 37 iso does get to gnome and then freezes for a secord or so then resets right after though

Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

grml is NOT the install iso, but a rescue distro that notably includes a GUI environment but w/

fedora 37 iso does get to gnome and then freezes for a secord or so then resets right after though

I suspect grml will show similar behavior?

It might've booted, might've reset because it does the little process my PC does when it resets but I'm left with a black screen I didn't see any errors though just a start job that was taking a while

Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

Can you reliably boot the multi-user.target (2nd link below)?
Did you forget to attach the dedicated 6/8-pin power supply connectors to your GPU?

I suspect that the GPU activates, draws some serious power from the board and starves the CPU, which is likely on the edge tbw.
Also see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Ryzen#Troubleshooting

It's possible it's loosened up I can double check the 6pin is fully plugged in, and if that doesn't work I'll try the other thing you suggested.

Even if not, make sure the CPU has enough supply (see the linked wiki)

Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

Unlikely, that's the usb port of the GPU (for VR stuff)
If you can boot the multi-user.target, revisit https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 2#p2190032

Re: System Fatal Error CPU:0

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Microcode
The boot stalls while waiting for some vmware network service and then reboots hard (I assume at this point the GUI would have started after the vmware service timed out?)

1. can you boot the multi-user.target (no gui), yes or no?
2. if yes: when running nvidia-smi, does that trigger an instant reboot?
3. Do you have a spare (low end, 25W TDP) GPU?

Edit: you can makeshift a tripod w/ two books (or bricks) to brace your phone:  -\_

The vmware network has nothing to do with it that was before the issue started, how do i boot with multi-user? and 3. no
