Supress mkinitcpio?

There's package that installs some files into /usr/lib/firmware. This triggers a mkinitcpio automatically. Is there a way to supress that? In the PKGBUILD file (or something else?)

Re: Supress mkinitcpio?

That behaviour is caused by /usr/share/libalpm/hooks/90-mkinitcpio-install.hook[1] and can be over-ridden by a file in /etc/pacman.d/hooks/ with the same name.

Perhaps add a new line to the original file so pacdiff(8) will alert you to update the copy whenever the mkinitcpio package is updated.

Ok, so it has to be on a per user basis, not something that I can put in the PKGBUILD or any of the auxiliary files?

Re: Supress mkinitcpio?

Why is the mkinitcpio trigger so troublesome for you? What is the bigger picture here?
