Scrolling feels either freezing or heavy in all apps. Basically, it keeps me on Wayland - I am used to the turbo reactive smooth teleport in the desired place of a document / article. Changing the pointer speed doesn't help and I didn't find any special setting about scrolling. Changing the pointer speed doesn't affect.
Edit: AMD iGPU, touchpad.
There is also a visual (soap?) glitch when scrolling and watching videos. Actually the glitch may happen upon any animated update.
E.g. typing text - no glitch. Opening an animated dropdown - 50/50.
Edit 2: graphical glitch issue resolved in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p2192370.

Scrolling what client (positive list of samples, not "all apps")?
How? (Mousewheel, keyboard page up/down, scrollbar…)?
Because of the (uncomposited) graphics issue, please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
Offline
Action: scrolling touchpad with 2 fingers, vertically and horizontally.
A little heavy scroll: Qt6 and Electron apps such as Konsole, Libreoffice, Code - OSS and Dolphin.
Clunky scroll: FIrefox (Gtk3) (edit: with both touchpad and keyboard).
Reporting after enabling the compositor, which fixed the visual glitch and some freezes.

That's not the xorg log, possibly the last page?
Does either of this have amny impact on FF?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Firefo … _scrolling
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Firefo … _scrolling
What's "a little heavy scroll"?
Lag (you scroll but the action starts w/ a delay) or scroll distance (you wipe the entire touchpad, but the page moves only by like 3px), …?
Is scrolling w/ the keyboard or scrollbar likewise affected?

Starting firefox with this env variable has no effect.
Disabling smooth scrolling has an (expected ) effect.
Firefox: There is some delay between the moment I begin scrolling and the moment the scroll starts to happen. While scrolling, it has an effect of quickly jumping and stopping. It doesn't have to do with sensivity, since it's fast enough, but it seems to drive over bumps. Edit: arrow scrolling has the same delay / bumping, while Home / End do not.
Qt6 / Electron - almost unnoticeable => negligible after enabling compositor.

Does the FF problem remain w/ the "smooth" scrolling disabled?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Firefo … _scrolling
Offline
image.mem.min_discard_timeout_ms
and
image.mem.max_decoded_image_kb
don't exist in my FF. Creating them along with performing another steps feels the same as smooth scroll being just disabled, - being more chunky than the initial issue. The post is 11 years old anyways. I can live with such scrolling, thanks to scrot that works on X11, maybe I will figure it out in the future. Thank you seth for your time and help. May I keep the thread open in case someone will find it and comment?
