Dear Arch hakers,
I installed Arch, as on my old laptop but I experience several random slowdowns
.
Booting is often very slow, sometimes strangely fast while more often it takes forever.
The same goes for Apps, sometimes they start quickly and I experience no problems.
Other times they freeze for several seconds before unlocking and starting.
Here a video where I compare boot of my old i7 8th gen (left) with my new laptop Ultra 155h (right)
Kernel version: Linux msi 6.10.7-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 29 Aug 2024 16:48:57 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Here my journalctl, kernel loaded modules, pci devices and usb devices
Any other information that can help you helping me just ask ![]()

Looks like problem was caused by Intel Volume Management Device (Intel VMD).
Disabling VMD totally solved the problem. Could be a bug in kernel VMD driver?
P.S. To disable VMD from bios, you need to enable MSI advanced bios mode. To do that you need to holding down l-alt (or r-alt, not sure), r-ctrl, r-shift, then F2.
