For anyone experienced random reboots with ryzen 9 7900 series, maybe try this cmdline:
rcu_nocbs=${your cpu threads, I forget the wiki page where i see it, mine is 0-31} processor.max_cstate=5 pci=nomsi
and open the AMD Precision Boost Overdrive(enable, not mark it in auto state)
I got random reboots with a ryzen 9 7940hx laptop, and after taken this fix, all reboots are gone. Maybe these will also work for you :-)

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Ryzen#Random_reboots and that's not the problem in this thread at all.

I haven't seen 0001-drm-amdgpu-sdma5.2-limit-wptr-workaround-to-sdma-5.2.patch in the stable queue for 6.10 yet, does anyone have any idea how long it will take? I assume we won't have to wait until 6.11, right?
The fix just reached mainlined in https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … d4bfb82b4b. Hopefully it will be in one of the next few upstream stable releases.

6.10.7 was released and it contains the patch https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … a05a293e4b .

I just experienced another reboot on 6.10.7-zen after ~25hrs uptime.
I'm running 7950x3d on an Asus ProArt x670e. I've been following this thread since I noticed the same problem about a month ago. Since then, I decided to stick with 6.10.1-zen, which has run fine for weeks.
I have also swapped the PSU, memory, CPU, and motherboard and confirmed this is not a hardware issue.
So, is there anyone else experiencing the same issue?

and confirmed this is not a hardware issue.
Of course it is: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ryzen+idle+reboot
If you really think it's not a hardware problem, tell us which commit introduced the variable that causes your system to reboot itself.
Excuse my poor English.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 4#p2191794 - this thread revolves around a driver patch that certainly seems to promote the fatal condition.
@yu17
a) The zen kernel isn't somehow for Ryzen, the naming is conincidental. Do you still have the problem w/ the vanilla 6.10.7 kernel?
b) did the frequency change w/ 6.10.7?
c) did the issue exist w/ 6.10.2? Does downgrading to it fix it for you?
d) nb. that if/since you've swapped out huge parts of the HW, data collected with the old HW setup is no longer applicable

for what it may count, I am using 6.10.7 vanilla since it was released on arch repos and i did not encounter any forced reboot yet. I used the laptop at least 8/10 hours per day but i did shut it down several times, so i cannot speak about 25hours uptime (given that 25hours uptime meant continued uptime).
I will let you know if i encounter any problems.

I have 7800x3d, and I like to use iGPU because latest plasma is very sloppy on my nvidia. I have started to experience very frequent HARD resets (not even kernel panics. Couldn't even catch it with kdump). Yes it looks like hardware, but the but is more like "hardware allows the software to shoot it in the foot" case.
I had to switch to Nvidia as my main and only GPU and the issue was gone, for about a week.
I've tried again enabling iGPU with the very latest standard, and now I can also confirm that, at least for 1 day, I haven't had the hard reset.
