Cups no printing of Documents are generated by cups-pdf

Hello,

after last update I can't print Pdf Files made with cups-pdf.
Also such Files  I already printed.

Error Mesage is:
Stopped
"cfFilterPDFToPDF: load_file failed: temp file: unable to find trailer dictionary while recovering damaged file"

Please help

Downgrading cairo to 1.18.0-2 and restarting both cups and (in my case) evince worked around the issue for me. Hopefully it'll work for you too.

Can you open a bug report on the Arch cairo package? Given how pervasive cairo is it's probably not a good idea for us to hold back on the old version for long.

Thanks @jonasmalacofilho.  The cairo downgrade solution worked for me.  I filed issue archlinux/packaging/packages/cairo#2.

Oh what the hell. It really was a system-side bug. Lol

Thank you to all of you. What worked for me is what you  guys did, specifically:

1. Downgraded cairo to 1.18.0-2

2. Ran systemctl stop cups.service

3. Ran systemctl stop cups.service

4. Closed evince

5. Re-opened the relevant PDF

Finally that "universal filter failed" - message is gone, which is mentioned here: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … -reproduce
