Arch becomes unusable when Nvidia drivers are installed (RTX 3060)

I've recently switched straight from Windows to Arch Linux (3 months as of posting) and I have absolutely loved it. I personally have found it extremely easy to become acclimated with Arch and have had no problems...

except for graphics drivers.

I've spent hours upon hours trying to figure this out and I still don't get it. The only drivers I've ever gotten "working" are the Nouveau ones. I put working in quotations because it hardly helps, I still get lots of screen flickering and everything is highly CPU oriented.

With the Nvidia drivers installed my system boots into a black screen and nothing I found helped at all. The furthest I got was setting nvidia_drm.modeset to 1 which got me into KDE but at the entirely wrong resolution and no detection of my other monitor.

My current workaround has been to dual boot Windows and Arch but it's definitely not ideal.

Also, I've recently found this thread with a promising solution https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … a_drivers/ However, I don't think its valid anymore because of a note I saw on the Arch wiki. Besides, even if it did still work I don't feel downgrading my packages by two years is a good idea.

[NOTE: I'm not entirely certain what the etiquette for posting issues is so if you need more information such as more specs or logs I'd be happy to provide them. Basically, I apologize for my ignorance.]

Please provide your journal:

sudo journalctl -b > log.txt

as well as any information on your session type (x11, wayland)
and your full kernel parameters (if you are using GRUB 2, you can view these by pressing E at the boot screen).
