Is it possible to run a .xprofile for a specific DE?

Hello i'm new here and I used to use dwm with xinit. Recently i've been trying mate and lightdm. I want to know if is possible to start dwm in lightdm with the script I have in .xinitrc, but I want this script only to run when I use dwm, tried to use .xprofile but it runs in both dwm and mate

You can place the startup commands in a script that ends by calling dwm then run that in the Exec line of a file at /usr/share/xsessions/dwm.desktop ← that will create a desktop option for dwm in most desktop managers, including LightDM.
