Hi all,
I am the maintainer of an AUR package.
I would like to change the name of the package, but I don't want to lose the discussion on the package page and the history of the package.
My question is if I can change the package name without losing all this stuff.
Thank you very much.
Best,
Paolo

I'm pretty sure the recommended approach is to create the new package (perhaps with 'replaces=($oldpkg)`), then request to merge in the old package's comments / history.

merging will merge comments and votes, it's up to you to retain the git history.

Got it!
Thanks a lot.

Sorry, is there a way to merge also the previous maintainers?
I would like to give credit to the guy who started the package.

There is no such information to merge. That's just done in your PKGBUILD comments as it always was.
EDIT: I suppose there is a aur web field for the "submitter" which I believe may be the first person to package it for the AUR, and this could be lost. But I'd not worry about that: just acknowledge them in the PKGBUILD comments.
