How can I play audio from both my Switch and my PC at the same time?

I'm currently using ALSA and I have an audio jack from my Nintendo Switch plugged into my computer as well as a speaker through which audio is played. On Windows, I was able to use both the audio from my computer and the console simultaneously through the use of Stereo Mix. Is there an equivalent way to play multiple audio sources through one speaker at the same time?

Re: How can I play audio from both my Switch and my PC at the same time?

You can merge an input into an output with snd-aloop if you want to stay on ALSA land a couple of other methods with pulse and friends.

E.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanc … _snd-aloop

If you need more help than that we'd need to see your setup e.g. while having audio from the switch and playing out of the speaker post

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
aplay -Ll
arecord -Ll
amixer -c0 #replace with correct index from card if not 0

And post these wrapped in  [ code ] [ /code ] tags without the spaces

I followed the method described in that section of the wiki using this command:

 ffmpeg -f alsa -i hw:5,0,0 -f alsa -i hw:2,0,0 -filter_complex amerge output.mp3

and received the following output:

I turned my Switch on to test if the sound was working during the time ffmpeg was running and stopped it upon realizing that no audio was playing. I may have used the wrong card number but it seems unlikely.

Re: How can I play audio from both my Switch and my PC at the same time?

I've switched to PulseAudio before and tried to use the simultaneous output it allows but it didn't work and I ended up with a faulty audio system (hang on "Establishing connection to PulseAudio" and I figured out it conflicted with pipewire. Tried to uninstall but it had too many dependencies and things using it so I decided against it and thought it'd be easier to just remove PulseAudio and stick to ALSA). MPlayer and FFmpeg haven't worked and I'm not sure if real-time simultaneous output from a console and a PC at the same time is even possible on Linux. If it is, I am not sure where to look...
