upgrade to 6.11 causes USB/Bluetooth issues

Upgrading from 6.10.10 to either 6.11.1 or 6.11.2 causes issues with my USB and bluetooth systems.  Both the mouse and keyboard are USB and not responsive.  If I use the power button to shutdown, I see almost normal shutdown messages, except at the very end, lots of USB related messages like "taking a long time" and "failure to set" type things.

Machine is  a Minisforum NAB6, and the only option for mouse and keyboard is USB or bluetooth, makes it very hard to diagnose.

I managed to totally shutdown, pulled out the power cable and reset, boot with both mouse and keyboard unplugged.  Plug in after boot, works enough to downgrade kernel.

After a couple boot cycles, back to normal.

Could you try to capture these error messages? Also did you suspend your system before the issue occured or does this also happen on a clean boot + shutdown combination?

Re: upgrade to 6.11 causes USB/Bluetooth issues

I also have bluetooth issues with kernel 6.11.2.

Downgrading to 6.10.10 resolves the issue.

I have a fake Chinese dongle that does not play well with all kernels: https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/bl … gmail.com/

Here is the output of lsusb:

…
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

EDIT: For the time being, I did not try to track the error down but I can help with further logs later in the day.

Re: upgrade to 6.11 causes USB/Bluetooth issues

For me this was with a clean boot and shutdown, didn't attempt any suspend.  I don't want to re-upgrade because it is tricky to downgrade but if there's any way I can pull this from the logs, I'm happy to, I just don't know much about journalctl syntax.

Re: upgrade to 6.11 causes USB/Bluetooth issues

You can get the journal for the last boot using the -b flag.

For example for the log for the previous boot it would be:

journalctl -b -1

the number after -b is how many boots you want to go back, 0 is current.
Share a link to the output or wrap it in code tags here.

Re: upgrade to 6.11 causes USB/Bluetooth issues

I also have bluetooth issues with 6.11.1. Downgraded to 6.10.10 and no issues so far.

Cannot reproduce every time, but here are the steps when it freezes.
1. Turn on bluetooth with "bluetoothctl power on" (bluez 5.78-1 and bluez-utils 5.78-1)
2. System freezes
3. Have to press power button to reboot.

journalctl logs indicate a soft lockup:
