I'm coming from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=296611 which solved my issue.
I could not get `libreoffice --base` to work at all until I set `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=qt6` on my system.
Why did I need to do that? should i fix that on our packages or is it a bad default detection upstream?
anyone knows more about this?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LibreOffice#Theme
The theme detection used by libreoffice (and it's predecessor OpenOffice ) has been fragile since forever .
On X the detection tends to work fine the last years, wayland is another story.
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/blo … /README.md and https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/blo … ME.vars.md have more info.
What window manager / desktop environmnet / wayland compositor are you using ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Thanks for the links Lone_Wolf! haven't marked as solved before as I never had time to investigate this (as we dropped libreoffice base from consideration)
Those pages gave me all the info I could want on the topic! thanks again.
