Hi all,
Having a rather frustrating time with the 6.11 Kernel and Hyprland. After the update, there's an occasional set if flickering artifacts on the centre right of my screen. they're about 20 pixels high and 250 pixels wide, and flicker very intermittently. I'm using AMD hardware, a 7900XTX. Everything is fine on the 6.10 kernel which I have rolled back to.
I've tried turning VRR off (no difference) and I've tried setting render:explicit-sync=0 in the hyprland config file.
Any input regarding this would be appreciated. I'm not having problems at the moment running 6.10 but I'd like to be able to upgrade and not have these issues if possible.
Thanks.
UPDATE: I managed to solve the issue. changed this line:
monitor=DP-1,3840x2160@120,auto,auto
to this:
monitor=DP-1,3840x2160@119.91,auto,auto
Seems something changed to make Hyprland a bit more picky about the refresh rates. Regardless, glad it's all grand now.
Further update: Nope, the flickering is back. I've rolled back to 6.10 again. I suspect it's one of my autostart apps but I don't have time to test atm. I will investigate later.
Further further update: nothing in the config seemed to fix it, but if I set the monitor to a 60Hz refresh rate and then back to 119.91Hz, the problem seems to go away. So I'm pretty stumped.

I'm also having this issue on my Framework 16 with AMD integrated graphics, but it does not affect fullscreen games. Please let me know what you find!

Hello !
I got the same issue on my Framework 16 running Hyprland, and I think I fixed that by changing those settings :
- used 165hz exactly for the refresh rate mode (previously it was set at 100hz)
- changed vrr mode to 2 instead of 1
- set up sddm to use Wayland instead of X11 as said here : https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Variab … porting_it
Hope it'll fix your problem too
