For a few weeks now, I've tried updating my system and it keeps failing for `gnome-shell-performance` with the error:
installing mutter (47.0-3) breaks dependency 'libmutter-14.so=0-64' required by gnome-shell-performance
The package depends on both mutter and libmutter-14.so=0-64. It's required by a lot of things from gnome like all extensions, but most importantly, it's required by gdm, so I can't just remove the package.
I've also tried updating just gnome-shell-performance which doesn't work, as well as just mutter/libmutter.
What can I do to resolve this conflict? It seems to me that the package and its dependencies are in conflict with themselves?

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnom … erformance dependes on libmutter-15.so, remove the package, update the system, re-intall it again.
Edit: to be clear, you need to rebuild it. Re-intalling a previously built package (against the old libmutter) won't work!

You mean remove gnome-shell-performance? In that case I can't, since my window and login manager depends on it, as I said before.
While I probably could do this all from the console without the graphical windows and all, I'm not sure I want to uninstall the lot of packages that depend on gnome-shell-performance, re-install, and reconfigure them.

Replace it w/ the normal gnome-shell interim?
You don't have to reconfigure anything, your $HOME isn't supposed to be affected.
If you've more aur packages depending on mutter or gnome-shell, you'll have to rebuild them anyway.
