NetworkManager, DNS problem

Стоит арч на ноуте. Подключаюсь используя nmcli. Все работает, до момента пока в usb-порте есть ЛЮБОЕ устройство. Если же порты пустые: ping: ya.ru: Temporary failure in name resolution

ping 8.8.8.8
PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 192.168.0.108 icmp_seq=23 Destination Host Unreachable
ping: sendmsg: No route to host

Re: NetworkManager, DNS problem

Please post the output of

ip a
ip r
find /etc/systemd -type l -exec test -f {} \; -print | awk -F'/' '{ printf ("%-40s | %s\n", $(NF-0), $(NF-1)) }' | sort -f

"Destination Host Unreachable"  is *not* a DNS problem, you have no internet connection.

Re: NetworkManager, DNS problem

I don't quite get the USB port reference, but if the absence or presence of certain USB HW affects something, might be up to USB autosuspension which you could try to disable: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … utosuspend

---

Moving to Other languages...

The OP wrote:

I have an arch on my laptop. I connect using nmcli. Everything works as long as there is ANY device in the usb-port. If the ports are empty: ping: ya.ru: Temporary failure in name resolution

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

Might be rather some broken udev rule?
usb autosuspend deactivating what's typically a pci device seems strange.

The crazy explanation would be that the device acts as antenna lol

Re: NetworkManager, DNS problem

Please use

tags. Edit your post in this regard.

dhcpcd.service | multi-user.target.wants

Where are you using nmcli??
(Don't)

There're carrier, lease and default route over the wired enp2s0.
Is this or the journal supposed to cover a broken network situation?

AmneziaVPN.service | multi-user.target.wants

Do you have the same problem w/o the VPN?

Oct 26 18:26:55 karuizawa kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.7: [ 0] RxErr (First)

There's some noise on the bus, but I don't think the r8168 NIC is on that bus.

Stop that, dhcpcd is fine.

Does it work on a 6.10 kernel (or maybe LTS)?

Re: NetworkManager, DNS problem

Install the LTS kernel or downgrade to 6.10.9 from the https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_Linux_Archive and see whether your wifi stabilizes.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.

According to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p2204456 6.11.6 should™ fix this in the main kernel.
