GNOME Keyring password gets reset after every update

Ever since re-installing Arch Linux about two months ago, I have this issue where the keyring password is reset after what I suspect to be an update of the gnome-keyring package. After updating, the keyring first stays unlocked upon reboot; then, usually after another reboot, I am prompted again for the password and if I enter the correct password, it is rejected as being the incorrect password. I've tried using a different password from my login password, which did not work; I've tried creating a backup before upgrading and restoring this backup after, but that also does not work. The only thing I can do in such a scenario is delete the keyring, create a new one and start over. This has happened about six times already. The only resource I could find online was this post on StackExchange Unix & Linux.

Does somebody know how to resolve this issue?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GNOME/ … remembered is pretty much the same as the workaround in SO

Do you https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GNOME/Keyring#PAM_step and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GNOME/ … r_password ?

Re: GNOME Keyring password gets reset after every update

Automatic unlock is enabled on my system, via GDM. Currently, it's not unlocked however, because my keyring password does not match my login password (which is on purpose). Furthermore, I don't have the "Automatically change keyring password with user password" enabled.

But the keyring password and your loging password are the same?
Does your login password otherwise still work at this point (eg. for sudo), resp. you're not running into https://man.archlinux.org/man/core/pam/faillock.8.en ?

Re: GNOME Keyring password gets reset after every update

My keyring password and login password are not the same, no. The issue is that my keyring password is rejected by GNOME Keyring, while it is correct. My login password otherwise works correctly, and I use it in conjunction with my fingerprint scanner.
