Hello.
I tried to install in a virtual machine (for some tests) an Archlinux with Gnome. But I noticed it breaks with a lot of python related content.
My settings? French locale and timezone, one user account, pipewire for sound and networkmanager for network related settings.
Archinstall log: https://0x0.st/XGqd.log
And of course, Archinstall works flawlessly with October 2024 ISO image.
I opened a bug here : https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … -/issues/2

Moving to the guided installer subsection.
As mentioned in the bug report you'll want to follow the upstream bug report

A workaround is to not select pipewire in audio section while setting up the installer.
And there is an issue open on ArchInstall bugtracker: https://github.com/archlinux/archinstall/issues/2764
Offline
Another workaround is to use the master of archinstall, which doesn't have the issue.
In the installer CLI: pacman -Syu git && git clone https://github.com/archlinux/archinstall && cd archinstall && python -m archinstall

You could but it is annoying that pipewire installation is broken.

I hit this issue, so I installed my arch with archinstall with KDE wayland but without any audio. After that I tried to install pipewire on my own.

I Default Sink and default source should contain some bus info, however mine does not. Could this be the problem? Could this problem be with the kernel?
I can see that alsa mixer and pavucontrol registers some input but there is no sound. I am comming from another linux distro in which there was audio.

No, this is mostly down to lacking packages, if you have a semi recent laptop you probably didn't install sof-firmware.
If this doesn't help, open a new thread with the outputs you posted here and additionally
aplay -lL
sudo dmesg | grep -iE 'snd|sof'
Offline
So sorry, problem is on my end, your reply:
install the sof-firmware and alsa-ucm-conf package and reboot. Should that not suffice you can enforce the older codec implementation by setting /etc/modprobe.d/dsp.conf
options snd_intel_dspcfg dsp_driver=1
but that isn't quite guaranteed to be maintained further for new chipsets, sof-firmware and alsa-ucm-conf are the newer, more future-proof standards, so only do that if sof-firmware doesn't work.
resolved it
