Systemd boot display [SOLVED]

Greetings,

I installed archlinux-2024.10.01 using archinstall. (the lazy way I know!) I decided to use systemd boot instead of grub and very happy with it's performance so far. Only small issue I've noticed is the start up time. In Debian grub, you can change the boot delay GRUB_TIMEOUT=from 5 to 0.

In the Arch wiki the /etc/default/grub has the option to change GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE= from Menu to hidden presumably the same thing.

I can't seem to find a way to do this with systemd boot or is there no option for it?

Cheers, MNS.

Re: Systemd boot display [SOLVED]

In systemd-boot this is configured in the loader.conf with the timeout option.

$ /usr/share/systemd/bootctl/loader.conf

or

$ sudo nano esp/loader/loader.conf

So In root terminal I'm getting 'Permission denied', the nano file doesn't exist. I'm beginning to wonder what have I forgotten to install?

Edit: Also I get the following with...

$ /boot/efi/loader/loader.conf
bash: /boot/efi/loader/loader.conf: No such file or directory

I've definitely done something wrong.

Great!
