Some background context about the problem:
After following the installation guide and setting up Arch Linux on the laptop, I was able to install SDDM and start plasma with the open source drivers. After I got that working, I wanted to switch to the proprietary Nvidia drivers for better performance, and that's where I ran into some issues. I had previously installed nvidia-dkms and primus, and it seemed to be working fairly well, but I still had some issues with multiple monitors and some programs crashing. While attempting to fix this issue, I must have messed up my configuration because now I can't get SDDM or plasma to start at all. I am using the default linux kernel, so I switched to nvidia instead of nvidia-dkms, I removed primus, and I have nvidia-prime and nvidia-utils installed as well. I've tried undoing my changes, and even going back to the open source drivers, but nothing seems to get me past the hang on boot when SDDM attempts to load.
In short, I can boot the system up and switch to a different TTY to access the system via command line, but trying to start SDDM results in an error message. By my current understanding, this must be a problem with the GPU drivers, as the laptop display works fine on the command line, and lspci confirms that both the integrated and discrete cards are being detected.
I'm trying to get the system working with wayland, for context. I was able to successfully get plasma running with wayland earlier, so it should be possible.

CONFIG_DRM_I915_FORCE_PROBE='!46a6' configuration options.
Regardless of anything else I highly recommend to keep "nvidia_drm.modeset=1" in the kernel commandline.
It's active by default now, but the parameter will block and prevent you from unknowingly running on the simpledrm driver.
"nvidia_drm.fbdev=1" is default as well, but it breaks the nvidia device for some people, so you might want to try setting explicitly "nvidia_drm.fbdev=0"
Ftr, the current situation has nothing to do w/ wayland - you're failing to run SDDM which still defaults to X11 (and wayland support is considered experimental)

I tried setting "nvidia_drm.fbdev=0" but that didn't seem to make a difference either way.
I wanted to test and see if it's specifically SDDM that is the issue, so I tried installing ly and seeing if I could log into plasma that way. It didn't work at first, but then I tried stripping down the kernel command like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="loglevel=3 quiet nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=0 nvidia.NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1"
And... now I'm able to boot into (wayland) plasma via ly. SDDM still crashes with the same error, strangely enough. Another oddity is that I'm not able to start an X11 plasma session through ly. It says "Xauth server authentication fail", though I am very sure I am typing the password exactly the same. (I tried several times) Perhaps there's a problem with my xorg/x11 settings? That would explain why I'm not able to start SDDM, since you pointed out that SDDM uses X11 by default, and not wayland.
It's a bit annoying because ly isn't able to automatically unlock the KDE Wallet (at least as far as I can tell), so I have to do that manually when I log in. Other than that, it works okay. I have a feeling there's still something messed up with my configuration, but I'm glad I was able to get back into the GUI at least.

For SDDM, please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and on a formal note, please refrain from full quotes, you're just bloating the thread w/ them.
Edit: also see the kernel message from teh xe module, your IGP is currently unused and I'm pretty sure that's what crashes X11
