[SOLVED] Monitor is no longer recognized

Hello everyone,
My monitor connected to my Arch Linux notebook is no longer recognized. I have now completely updated the system with pacman -Syu but it does not change anything.

The monitor is connected via the display port. The monitor reacts briefly when I unplug the cable from the notebook but then receives no signal.
My business notebook (Windows) still recognizes the monitor. The monitor should therefore be OK.

I have no idea where to start searching here. Could someone help me? Which outputs are needed? dmesg....?

I don't understand what's going on here. I have now simply swapped the cable and used the one from the other notebook. Then everything worked again. Now I have used the old cable again and everything still works as before, strange. The problem is solved for the moment.

1. Cables are the bane of our existence.
2. Did you reboot in between attempts?  I am wondering if a kernel updated had happened and was not reloaded.
3. Cables suck.

Re: [SOLVED] Monitor is no longer recognized

I had been working normally, then rebooted and the monitor was no longer recognized. Several further reboots did not help, even a system update with a new kernel update did not help.... Only after the story with the cable did everything work again.

Re: [SOLVED] Monitor is no longer recognized

I have a very similar problem. My computer is connected to the monitor via a DisplayPort cable. For some time, the monitor started turning off during operation, and now it doesn't receive any signal from the graphics card at all. Everything works fine on the HDMI cable. I've already bought a new monitor, but I'm afraid the problem lies in the software and I might damage the new monitor. I should add that the DisplayPort cable is fine, as it works with other devices. The problems probably started after I updated the nvidia drivers, when the system suspend function stopped working.

That is very annoying. In my case, I don't have an NVIDIA driver. I have a Tuxedo notebook with AMD drivers. I have not yet tested HDMI. I'll wait until it happens again and then I'll test an HDMI cable.
