The LQ thread resolves in "I did magic and its does works lol" and there's nothing looking like a cam in lspci and lsusb.
There's also no i8042 or mmc device that looks suspicious.

Is there a parallel windows intallation? (There'e quite some partitions) and does the webcam work there?
=> 3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.

Yes there are two parallel Windows installations (you probably know why) and I did not care to check about webcam in bloatware coz I was just going to use it for TV.

Now in arch I try to get the installation as functional as possible therefore checking all my hardware.

I am certain there is no webcam setting in the BIOS. I will double check right now after posting this.
Edit ---> double checked there is not webcam setting in the BIOS.

If there are no traces of webcam in output what could be the reason and what can I do next?

Disabled by the BIOS or powered off because of a hibernating windows or the camera is fried.
Make absolutely sure to have hibernation and fast start disabled in both windows, reboot each OS couple of times (voodoo is joke, necessity is not. You mght even have to reset the CMOS to get out of this)

From a random google (those might be different versions from yours) The G6 has a

Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04f2:b249 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd 

webcam.

1. Both Bloatware cannot find webcam
2. Hibernation is off on both
3. Fast startup is off on both

What can I try next?

For windows you need to allow the cam in the privacy settings.
Did you also reboot both windows and linux a couple of times?

1. Reset the CMOS
2. get an external cam.

Though I'm rather surprised that you cannot control the webcam in the firmware settings.
Is there maybe an external switch or a function key for it?

I've checked the privacy settings and cam does not show up.
It is not even listed in Device Manager.

I booted Windows and Arch multiple times

Afraid of opening up my legacy hardware to reset CMOS.

I'll get an external cam.
There is no external switch or function for cam.

You typically don't have to open anything, there's usually an option in the BIOS.
Are you sure you've looked around there for the camera?

It's "hardeware" but there's still typically BIOS switches to reset it, you're not gonna find a lot of jumpers in notebooks…
HP apparently hides advanced settings - you've to press "A" while the BIOS starts (ie. F10 or so to enter it and then A while it's starting up)

Nope no love ... tried it thrice with no visible change from normal BIOS boots.
I need ESC key to pause startup then F10 to enter into BIOS. I keep A pressed before I press F10 but nothing.

Neither advertising nor bargaining; just attempting to get your able eyes and brain on a more serious issue I was facing with no help till that time.
