Swap configuration advice

hello everyone,
i was configuring swap today and wanted some advice.

this is how my current setup looks like:
- 16gb ram
- 4gb zram
- 16gb ssd swap

will these settings be ideal for my setup? as mentioned in the wiki
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zram#O … ap_on_zram

or should i make any particular modifications?
thanks

Re: Swap configuration advice

Ideal for doing *what* on that setup? Word processing? Crypto Farming? Gaming? We don't know what your objective is.

Re: Swap configuration advice

Because all of this strongly depends on what's using your RAM and how it's being used (e.g. whether you're primarily handling file backed memory or a lot of anonymous pages) . If you're not even getting into the situation that you're memory pressured then trying to optimize this prematurely is at best not going to change anything at worst potentially regressing stuff. You can try it and see whether it has any noticeable impact on anything, but this strongly depends on what it is you're doing.
