Hi everyone, I'm new to Arch and have run into an issue with SDDM and its theme.
When I disable the theme by removing the
[Theme]
section in
/etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf
, everything works fine. However, when I select the Breeze theme via System Settings -> Colors & Themes -> Login Screen (SDDM) and then connect an external monitor (not the built-in display), SDDM freezes after I input my password and press Enter. The mouse and keyboard are still responsive—buttons change color when hovered—but the splash screen doesn't appear, no matter how long I wait.
If I disconnect the external monitor and use the built-in display to log in, the theme works fine and the splash screen shows up immediately.
I really want to apply the Breeze theme to make my Arch system look beautiful. Does anyone know how to fix this issue with SDDM? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is an issue upstream, there is currently no fix available AFAIK.
Maybe you can find a workaround, that works for you in the links listed at the bottom of this post.
I just switched to the Elarun theme. Its not the same but looks OK for me.
