Just last month, I had an arch installation with a working Beryl and the nvidia beta driver at the time. After breaking my system due to unrelated issues, I went home for winter break about two and a half weeks ago. I just got back and installed a fresh arch and am trying to get beryl working from the wiki instructions with my nvidia geforce 5500 and the proprietary drivers. Apparently, as per the wiki, I no longer need to use the beta drivers.
I have followed the wiki instructions to install beryl and update xorg.conf. When I run "beryl-manager", beryl starts and the compositing effects appear to be working, but I get no window decorator. Neither heliodor nor emerald works, I simply get no window borders. On running "beryl-manager" I get the following output.
XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA
