Followed instructions from here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Flashi … nux#Lenovo
`sudo fwupdtool get-devices` command yielded many devices, among which was 'System firmware', under which was 'UEFI btx' i think, but i took the id of 'System firmware' device and flashed the .fd file with fwupdtool, then rebooted as it prompted. Charging cable was connected, i did nothing. The system tried to boot but kernel paniced. I booted to UEFI, its version remained old, so the update didn't happen. Then i tried to boot to rescue stick and got error on picture below. Then i have done 'Reset System to Factory Defaults' in uefi and tried to boot to usb stick again, same error. Pls help, just got a new laptop and already broke it trying to update bios.

Either there's a glitch in the Matrix or your screen - did you try to scroll up or so?
The kernel seems to boot but then there's some OOPS but I can't tell what - the relevant parts are scrambled or missing.
To hopefully ease your panic, can you boot https://grml.org/ ?
Does the iso boot w/ "nomodeset"? (For clarification "rescue stick" is the install iso and does not attempt to boot any graphical.target?)
Can you bet a better representation of the error?

Yes, it was triple matrix glitch, because i got the same kind of glitched screen on attempt to boot to rescue stick (and yes, it is not trying to boot to any graphical.target, just tty), like the exact same. Then i unsuccessufuly tried to create and boot into windows PE usb stick, uefi just doesn't see it, no matter is the main partition efi or fat32, but that's off topic. Then i switched the usb port in which i plug in my arch usb stick and tried to boot again.. and it booted. Then standart mkinitcpio and grub stuff and this response i am writing from booted pc while taking sedatives heh.. Everything seems to work just fine, but i guess i need some help with updating the bios version on that laptop, so shall i rename the topic or create new one?

If everything is still fine, mark this thread resolved by editing your initial posts subject and open a new one about firmware updates and there certainly elaborate on
`sudo fwupdtool get-devices` command yielded many devices
and also the output of the update process.
