I am extremely perplexed by the problem I am experiencing with Signal-Desktop and Discord, where they keep freezing and I need to close the process and restart them to get them to function, but this solution is only temporary and I have to repeat it frequently. I ran Pacman -Syu and updated everything, but there have been no changes. It doesn't happen with games or a browser, but it does occur with Signal and Discord; I believe it would happen with additional apps if I had them.
Im on wayland:
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 6.11.8-arch1-2
Shell: bash 5.2.37
DE: Plasma 6.2.3
WM: kwin
Terminal: konsole
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (32) @ 5.881GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

Does it only happen when you receive a message/ping? Did you disable your notification server?
I've had this happen to me on Discord when I disabled notifications in my System Tray Settings on KDE Plasma, instead of hiding them.
It is a known issue: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Discor … r_messaged
I don't see it too unlikely for Signal to be having the same issue, if your other applications seem to work.
Otherwise, it could help if you ran Discord from your terminal and see if any errors appear there when it freezes.
