I've been trying to figure this out for about a month now, and I'm getting no where. It does the same thing in flux or kde. some text will be there, some isn't. It's completely random as well. If I scroll, some more will show up, while other parts disappear. The fluxbox menu will show about half of the stuff, and when I move the cursor over an item, it may disappear, appear, or stay in whatever state it was. I've tried rolling back packages and playing with all sorts of fonts. A guy at school mentioned it was a known problem, but I have yet to see/talk to him since I got back from break. Any ideas? Xorg isn't throwing any errors, on startup or in the logs. Every program does it (konquerer, xmms, mozilla, etc)
thanks

Just a thought: What do you have in your /etc/locale.gen?

After some searching I've found a debian bug report. I suggest submitting your bug to arch bug tracker and using nv driver as a workaround.
