[SOLVED] nvidia_drm.modeset=1 causes freeze during boot

I'm not sure which logs to provide, so please lmk what logs would be helpful.

I have a GTX 1070.

This problem began on the 3rd of October after an update, I've ran "pacman -Syu" many times over the last month, hasn't fixed itself yet.

If this is the kind of issue where I just have to wait at the mercy of nvidia, then so be it, but I wanted to post to see if anyone else had other ideas.

If nvidia_drm.modeset=0, then my gpu goes unused.
If nvidia_drm.modeset=1, then we always freeze a few seconds after the screen starts spitting text from booting (though the amount of time it takes to freeze is not consistent, give or take a half second or so)

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 used to be the only thing making my gpu work, now it breaks it, pls help

(also I have the workaround choice of using nouveau ik, but I'd like my gpu to go fast not slow)

Re: [SOLVED] nvidia_drm.modeset=1 causes freeze during boot

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 is meanwhile default but also blocks the simpledrm device.
However I assume the offender is the reversed fvdev default, try

nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=0"
