imgui package in AUR and impact for my own software

Hi ArchLinux,

Im a maintainer of (F3D)[https://f3d.app], which already have a package in extras: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/f3d/

We plan to add a (maybe optional) dependency to ImGUI for our next release.
However, it looks like imgui is merely an (AUR package)[https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/imgui], so a few questions:
- Even though the dependency will be probably optional, it will impact greatly the feature in the softare (no UI basically), so what will be the choice of the packager here ? Update without UI or keep at last version ?
- Is there a specific reason for imgui to be not an official package, apart not being picked up by a packager yet ?
- If that is so, how can I make it happen ?

I do not know if any of the packagers involved (bwrsandman  and Antonio Rojas) have account on this forum nor do I know if tagging people is considered good etiquete,
if that is possible, please feel free to tag them.

Re: imgui package in AUR and impact for my own software

If it's a feature that the Arch Devs think is valuable, then the new dependency will be brought into [extra], otherwise the feature will be disabled at compile time (assuming it needs to be present during compilation). In that situation it's likely that someone will create an AUR package variant which builds with the feature enabled.
