xfig3.2.9-1

When I run xfig 3.2.9-1 I get a warning

Either you have a very old app-defaults file installed (Fig),
or there is none installed at all.
You should install the correct version or you may lose some features.

I tried to re-install and recompile but the message is still there. Moreover the figure on the screen is of poor quality.
