newbie_person

sorry if my english is bad.

I've just been learning to use Archlinux for about 3 weeks. I tried various things I could do using Archlinux such as downloading packages that might be useful. I also tried downloading Steam, but I couldn't and deleted it. now my archlinux lags a little when the ram usage hits around 3 GB. before I reinstall, maybe someone can provide input on why my Archlinux is slow? because this is very inconvenient, plus when you open Firefox or Visual Studio Code, it feels very slow. but after I rebooted, performance improved slightly. but after around 30 minutes, performance decreased again

I use a laptop with specifications
SSD: 500 GB
RAM: 8 GB
RTX: 3050
and others I don't understand

Re: newbie_person

It's hard to say what the possible issues might be given the level of information to go off of. What CPU do you have? Is there some process(es) that are using a lot of your CPU? When the system starts to "slow down" again, run

top -n 3

and share the output. Also share the output of

journalctl -b

so we can see your boot logs.

What happened when you tried to download it, and how did you delete it?

Have you run

pacman -Syu

to make sure your packages are updated?

I also often carry out experiments where I download various applications / packages and delete them by:

pacman -Rns [....]

I thought that the apps I deleted were still weighing down my device's performance. sorry, I'm still a beginner smile smile
