Fresh install on a new Dell after the dualboot configuration of my previous laptop spontaneously locked up post Windows UEFI update.
On mounting drives, I accidentally double-mounted /root to /mnt resulting in an /etc/mnt/fstab file with a double entry for the /root partition. As I had already installed the filesystem using pacstrap in this mis-mounted configuration, I unmounted all devices and rebooted the machine.
The problem is that when I reboot to the /run/arch/airrootfs, then remount drives correctly, and then run pacstrap, there returns an error and warning.
warning: Public keyring not found; have you run 'pacman-key --init'?
Subsequently running pacman-key and then pacstrap again returns an error.
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature))
No packages upgraded.

On another look, it seems like there wasn't any problem with the mount configuration or the installation process. After unmounting and remounting partitions, and refreshing the /mnt/etc/fstab file everything looks to be in order.
The above PGP error must have popped up because I tried to run pacstrap while initializing the keyring. After checking the mirrorlist, I'm not worried about signing.
At any rate further problems have emerged with actually booting the system.
