card0-HDMI-A-1 disconnected after boot while external monitor plugged

Hello everybody.

My setup is:
monitor -> HDMI cable -> KVM switch (TESmart 4k 4x1 HDMI) -> HDMI cable -> HDMI-DP-adapter -> laptop-DP-port

Whenever I boot my arch system, the external monitor stays black. Even after login it stays black.

> cat /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/status
disconnected

When I re-plug the HDMI cable to the DP adapter nothing changes.
When I re-plug the DP adapter to the laptop the monitor is detected and

> cat /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/status
connected

Is there a way to get this done by configuration? Any hints what could be the problem that its not auto detected from the start?

Sorry if the info is not complete - I will deliver every info I have/you need :-)

Thank you forehand.

Re: card0-HDMI-A-1 disconnected after boot while external monitor plugged

Noone there with an idea what I can do to get my monitor connected on boot???
Does a script help?
Does a different window manager bring cure?
Can I somehow just script somethin in my .bashrc/_profile to get the card-plugs reinitialized?

Re: card0-HDMI-A-1 disconnected after boot while external monitor plugged

I just tried with a direct PD connection ... it works perfectly... problem is that I then bypass the KVM switch...

UDEV any ideas?
DRM configuration maybe?
Xorg?

Or should I try another plug-adapter from DP->HDMI - or maybe swith male<-->female adaapter type and go from the DP cable to HDMI on the KVM side?

Please help
thx
