Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

failed to coldplug... => this is also an error from the LTS kernel upowerd, so doesn't seem to be a problem

bluez is probably be dragged in by bluedevil which should only be an optional ependency?

Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

removed bluedevil, reboot, unfortunately still slow...

so it's not it

as mentioned before I removed everything connected to bluetooth from bluez, tools and also bluedevil and it was still slow...

also disabled BT in BIOS, but was still slow

so I think it's something else, but it's not in the logs and that's painful = or I don't see it there...

maybe that's the new reality to see splash screen for 20 seconds, before I get to desktop... but it doesn't happen with FEDORA live CD and it's Kernel 6.11

Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

Does this happen with the latest ISO?

Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

removed bluedevil, reboot, unfortunately still slow...

Can we please see the journal for that?

The install iso doesns't have a GUI (I'm not even sure it comes w/ bluetoothd) and afaiu the console login wasn't affected by this itfp?

maybe that's the new reality to see splash screen for 20 seconds

Curb your pessimism tongue

Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

I just reinstalled and tried multiple distros, same problem

so it's a KERNEL ISSUE, nuked my configs, because of it "awesome" as I wanted to have it clean as possible

don't really like this side of linux to be honest, have a quite recent hardware and this is bad regression

Re: significant slow boot times from kernel 6.11/12

We know it's kernel related since you compared

LTS and kernel until 6.10, load was under 1 second...

and notably if the LTS kernel still doesn't exhibit this.
The only real question is whether BT is actually the cause and whether in that case it's related to the userspace interface.

Instead of flailing around (wtf did you "nuke" you configs, a fresh user would have taken care of that…) it would be better to finally post a journal of a bluetoothd-free boot, covering the delay.
