[solved] Install plasma mobile on desktop?

Is it possible to install plasma mobile on desktop? I have a touch screen convertible laptop and want to see if its of any use. But all i can find is https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/plasma-mobile which no longer works.

Re: [solved] Install plasma mobile on desktop?

Works fine here (built in a clean chroot), but I'm not sure it's much use on a laptop -- it has a similar interface to Android, so not really designed for keyboard+mouse(/trackpad) interaction. Still, if you want to try it out for yourself and form your own opinion, please elaborate on what didn't work for you.

Mod note: Moving to AUR Issues.

I see the problem.
Im using yay -S plasma-mobile and its trying to install the one from extra's instead of the newer aur one... Is there a way to force the aur package over the extras one?

Use makepkg and pacman

Edit:  We were posting at the same time.  Glad you got it working with yay.  I still recommend learning to fly by hand though...

There is no 'plasma-mobile' in Arch's extra repo, what distro are you actually running?

Looks like they used yay's ability to obfuscate the line between repositories and the AUR

ewaller@odin/~% auracle search plasma-mobile
aur/plasma-mobile 6.2.2-0 (14, 1.171756)
    Plasma Mobile shell components.
aur/plasma-mobile-sounds 0.1-1 (2, 1.7e-05)
    Sounds for Plasma Mobile
ewaller@odin/~%
got it working with
yay -S aur/plasma-mobile
