Upgraded to new xfree-4.4.0-1.
Now I can't fire up my TV card using xawtv
Terminal output is:
This is xawtv-3.91, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.3-P4v.2)
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 144 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 268
Current serial number in output stream: 268
I think it has something to do with {maybe??} the ttf-bitstream-vera font thingy :?: :?:
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks,
slyski
I think I fixed it.
I was reluctant to upgrade to the 2.6.5 kernel after the 2.6.4 usb hotplug errors.
But I went ahead anyway and the hotplug errors aren't there and the TV (xawtv) works OK now.

That funky GLX error can be worked around by specifying 'xawtv -nogl'.
I'm researching more.

Thanks for the reply Xentac,
Since it started working again after the 2.6.5 upgrade I didn't check the command
line thing anymore.
Since I seen another post about this I investigated again and the error about the font
is still there:
This is xawtv-3.91, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.5-P4v.1)
Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-ledfixed-medium-r-*--39-*-*-*-c-*-*-*" to type FontStruct
but at least it works now.
Thanks,
slyski
