Plasma Wayland

There is no option to choose Plasma (Wayland) on gdm login screen. There is only Plasma (X11).

Re: Plasma Wayland

Please use a topic title that actually reflects your issue... What's your graphics card? For GDM to show wayland options on nvidia a couple of preconditions have to be fulfilled (even if nvidia isn't the primary renderer): https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GDM#Wa … DIA_driver

Re: Plasma Wayland

Not that it's particularly helpful.  You can use whatever login manager you prefer.  But I'd advise using SDDM if you're using Plasma.  If I use GDM it always prompts me to sign in to KDE wallet when I log on.  With SDDM I don't have to do that.

Re: Plasma Wayland

While I agree that SDDM is to be preferrd because GDM is overly complex with some questionable logistics (none of these checks it does to determine whether to show you Wayland are actually strictly necessary safe for ensuring modesetting is enabled) the reason for that particular peculiarity is easily explained and documented relevantly on the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE_Wa … figure_PAM
