tmux weird lines

When I installed tmux on my new PC the panes were not divided by straight lines. Instead the lines looked like this: ââââââââââââââ. I can't find anything with duckduckgo because I do'nt have any idea what I should be lloking for. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Re: tmux weird lines

You need to use a font that supports the dividing lines. Which font are you using? Which terminal is this?

Re: tmux weird lines

âââ

sound a hell lot like a locale issue…

localectl
locale -a
locale

Alternatively it's a terminfo problem

echo $TERM

(and as HoaS requested: what terminal emulator are you talking about?)

For the linux console and an 8bit font it'd however likely be the console font and you'll run into trouble for "ascii art, but also cyrillic" or stuff like that.
